A home should be a welcoming place of psychological comfort and ambiance. Thoughout one’s life, our home has deep effect on us. Many adults recall fond memories of family gatherings in the home, playing with siblings when young, and lots of excitement when a change occurs. For some of course, those memories can be negatively affected by abuse, loss experiences, fighting parents, poverty, etc.
Looking for ways to make your home work best for you while there and also to understand the psychological effects when its time to move to a different living situation as part of our natural evolution (leaving home as a young adult, moving for a job, relationship shift). Many life transitions require a change in living space, sometimes a different room, like when a new sibling comes along.
No matter what the change and circumstances, our home space has an effect on how we navigate that change.
This discussion will include thoughtful observations by the group as to what things have/could come up and ways the home is important to an emotionally healthy life experience.
As a psychotherapist and a Realtor, Terry brings a unique perspective on house buying/selling and more recently on creating the space you need. There are additional challenges if your decisions include other household members who may have conflicting needs, money barriers, and aging/illness issues. Ideas for “shifting the energy” in one’s home will also be discussed along with practical ideas to assist in decision making on possible moves or changes within your current home.
Each month, the Healing Arts Alliance hosts a Professional educational presentation featuring a speaker from the HAA membership directory.
The event is general admission, geared toward professionals in the field of health.
Anyone may attend, and attendees are encouraged to bring friends who may be interested in the topic.
This monthly gathering is an opportunity for our community to meet members of the Healing Arts Alliance.
