SECOND TUESDAY MEETINGS – HAA EDUCATION SERIES

Please join us for this program, as Annika Suarez, MS, CCC-SLP Sunny Speech Inc., member of Healing Arts Alliance discusses “The impact of tethered oral tissues on daily life.”

Tethered oral tissue, or tongue-tie is a remnant of tissue in the midline between the undersurface of the tongue and the floor of the mouth that restricts normal tongue movement (IATP, 2016). Signs of tethered oral tissues include: tongue thrusting, excessive gagging while eating or sucking, breastfeeding issues, snoring, mouth breathing, reflux symptoms, baby colic, sleep apnea, neck pain and/or articulation errors. We will explore the impact that tethered oral tissues has on daily life, what the latest research has to say and how to treat them.

About Tongue-tie

Each month, the Healing Arts Alliance hosts an educational evening featuring a speaker from the HAA membership directory. The event is general admission and attendees are encouraged to bring friends who may be interested in the unique topic of the evening. This monthly gathering is an opportunity for our community to meet members of the Healing Arts Alliance and learn why and how to access holistic healers.
