Courageous Conversations About Compassion Fatigue | Dr. Michelle A. Mitcham @ Capital Regional Medical Center Conference Building
Apr 24 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Dr. Michelle A. Mitcham, LMHC, NCC, CCMHC, CFM presents “Courageous Conversations about Compassion Fatigue and Burnout: Helping professionals and helpers help themselves: Implications for a Self-Care Plan”

As helpers, leaders, nurses and professionals in the helping and healing world, as well as managers, directors, CEO’s, caregivers, parents, and business owners, it is common to experience burnout and compassion fatigue. There are so many stressors in everyday life, that you may sometimes feel like you are standing under Niagara Falls trying to catch all of the water with a coffee cup. When taking care of people, teams, patients and businesses, it is sometimes challenging to slow down, reflect on our own self-care, recharge our batteries and practice renewal. It is especially difficult for those that teach and deliver the healing strategies or run their own businesses. To increase the triple bottom line, we must focus on the health and welfare of people; human capital. This interactive workshop will focus on courageous conversations around self-care and how to combat compassion fatigue. Strategies for practicing mindfulness and self-care including a SWOT Analysis and guided imagery, will be presented.

April’s Installment of the Free Lunch and Learn series is brought to you by the Healing Arts Alliance at Capital Regional Medical Center. All are welcome to join us. Bring your lunch!
